Kyle Rittenhouse Is All They Have

In portraying an America riddled with good ol' boys eager to murder activists- the closest thing they have after a summer of intense unrest is Kyle Rittenhouse.

Kyle Rittenhouse is a white supremacist spree killer, right? The President said as much himself. This idea of his guilt, both of murder and racial extremism, is written into the fabric of 2020's media landscape, irrevocably. Those who said it cannot take it back- they were far, far too explicit in their conviction and choices of words.
Anyone paying attention knows better- on the left, discussions berating Kyle's actions have begun to include some acknowledgement that his violent acts were all defensive in nature. At this point his own "victim" has corroborated this in court, along with others whom Kyle was supposedly out to slaughter that night. There's not much left to go on besides "he shouldn't have been there" and "the cops who did nothing are the most guilty of all". Even the claims of him as a racist are hinged primarily on a general disdain among progressives for the very idea of being at a protest or riot while armed. None of this addresses the validity of the charges, and hateful media coverage, leveled against him.
During the almost orgiastic and decidedly media approved mayhem committed in tandem with the racial justice protests of the summer of 2020, we were warned ceaselessly by corporate news and academia about the threat of white supremacy. In addition to being told the very foundation of our government and way of life are intrinsically racist in origin, we were constantly terrorized with images and words about possible white supremacist terrorists. Those fellows in the Hawaiian shirts for instance, seen open carrying large rifles during unrest in different areas. A picture was painted very clearly for us by corporate media: a nation so tainted by, and determinedly attached to white supremacy, that members of the public could and would use violence against rioters, and even peaceful activists.

In retrospect, the reality of 2020 did not live up to the expectations one would have of an America so gripped with hate that average joe's all over were just itching to play target practice with activists. Far from it, in fact. Multiple examples of supposed white supremacists documented intimidating protestors were proven media hoaxes. There were also numerous examples of things looking one way only to be proven otherwise (it was a strange year, after all). Remember the Hawaiian shirt guys? Apparently there were some people with white supremacist beliefs who went out armed, wearing Hawaiian shirts. There were multiple groups with different ideologies doing this around the same time. And wouldn't you know it, the most prominent of them- arguably those who brought the most attention to the concept- were a very progressive variety of Libertarians, in favor of open borders and strongly disconnected from traditional right-wing norms associated with their party. They came out many times, armed and wearing Hawaiian shirts or tactical gear- in support of the protestors! Unfortunately it was easy to take pictures of them and make assumptions, with many yet to understand the complex truth.

Progressive Libertarians who support open borders
The title of this first blog entry, it isn't technically accurate. If we really wanted to get down to brass tacks about the case for an America riddled with possible white supremacist spree killers, Kyle Rittenhouse doesn't enter the picture. There is a list of different events and individuals who have committed violence or murder in the name of something akin to a white supremacist ideology. There were plenty of people who committed acts of violence or intimidation against protestors during the unrest of 2020, many of them being motivated by some form of extreme and potentially racist ideas. The actual frequency of their occurrence during the rather chaotic summer of 2020 did not add up to a problem so severe and recurring as to define America by their behavior.
I payed attention as things went wild in the summer of 2020. I listened to the media coverage, to my friends on the left and some of the media coverage which they consumed. I can say with confidence, the America which they portrayed- the extremes of danger posed by active violent white supremacists, their overall number and level of popular support- it does not exist.
The nation which I saw portrayed in popular media and by members of the far left, would have seen dozens of Kyle Rittenhouses all over the country. Sorry, I have to self correct again- Kyle Rittenhouse provided aid to protestors and was attacked. His story has no place in a discussion about activists victimized by right wing thugs. In the America portrayed by media and the left, the sort of people you saw holding large guns and guarding property or, god forbid, intimidating peaceful protestors- they would have shot people. They would have been coming out armed, not to help anyone (or harass them) but to kill. In this America I was told I lived in, people acting in this manner would have done so with relative impunity. How many judges and prosecutors would condemn such people in a white supremacist ethno-state?
But we did not see anything like that, at all. No, apparently the closest thing we have to this in the summer of 2020 is Kyle Rittenhouse. Who put out a literal dumpster fire, rendered first aid to an injured protestor, and was then attacked by a serial child rapist whom he shot rather expertly, harming no bystanders (besides two more who also attacked him). In their argument portraying an America riddled with good ol' boys just itching to murder some racial justice activists in cold blood- the closest thing they have after a summer of intense protesting and rioting is Kyle Rittenhouse.

Unequivocally a Neo Nazi rally
Forget anything you may feel about the police, good or bad- put aside any negative or positive notions you have about racial justice in America in the year 2021. Consider only the protests and riots of Summer 2020 and how the majority of Americans responded to them. It was a time of greater political and social turmoil than most have ever seen. There was definitely violence on both sides- protests, riots, countless days and countless cities, many clashes between rivaling protestors and police. Lives were lost, and avowed white supremacists showed themselves at times. But how severe was their impact, and how great was their support? How would they have been treated had they committed any mass casualty events? I found America's overall response to the unrest of 2020 rather encouraging. It was good not to see activists (or rioters) murdered by alt right spree killers- it was encouraging to see what we were told would probably happen, not happen. How unfortunate that in their absence, a case like Kyle's would act as stand in for a real terror event.
Consider precisely what Kyle Rittenhouse did, and how he was treated. The media seized upon the story like dogs, telling us all a "white supremacist terror attack" had taken place. Long after that characterization was proven false, numerous important figures including President Biden took it upon themselves to continue to sustain this made up event, slandering a real person. In addition to all of this he was charged with the most serious crimes possible, and still awaits resolution in court.
In their campaign against America, the far left and their media apparatus have so little to go on that a case like Kyle's is worthy of milking past the point of any logical explanation. He did not commit capitol murder, the charges were flimsy at best and the case has dissolved spectacularly before the eyes of the world. Yet still they try.
It isn't LITERALLY all they have- this incident isn't related to their case against America, after all. Kyle Rittenhouse is innocent of being any type of spree killing white supremacist. It seems they've poured so much effort and belief into this lie, they can't let go of it. I suppose when Kyle is exonerated, that will be a new part of their case for America as white supremacist ethno-state. "He got off the charges! America is racist!" Oh who am I kidding, they're already saying that. Here we go again...
